My story

Thinking about my journey to YNYS AROMA, it has been a somewhat wavy path but one with a clear core theme, from once working in a health food store selling essential oils and a lifelong obsession with aromatherapy, to building on my passion and obtaining some professional education in complementary therapies, aromatherapy, anatomy and physiology.

That lead to me being a qualified holistic therapist, giving the most incredible, transformative experiences through the power of massage therapy. During the pandemic there was a significant chunk of time where I couldn't give treatments, and then another chunk of time afterwards where it just felt a bit weird with layers of plastic and facial coverings taking away an element of the personal connection. It was then that I began blending essential oils at home and making them into candles so that I could still give a wellbeing experience when it was physically impossible to get my hands on people.

Much of the inspiration for the creation of my essential oil blends comes from our home surroundings of Barry Island, which is nestled into the the South-East Wales coastline. I think about the effects on our physical, emotional, and spiritual beings when fully immersed in the different elements of nature. To be by the refreshing sea, or under the energetic sun, and its ability to instantly transform our mood. I aim to replicate the wellbeing effects of nature through aromatherapy, synergistically blending essential oils with a focus on their benefits and create something which is accessible to anyone, anywhere.

Barry Island to many is noise and fun, thrills and spills, and fish and chips and what's occurring, but tiptoe around the headland, step out of the wind and there's balance to be found. Ebb and flow, yin and yang. The changes of the tides. Our Ynys y Barri, The Island, our home.

YNYS AROMA is a creative extension of my life. It's my calm, my joy, the expression of my curiosities and a my need to make people feel good.
